Teachers for a Change

The Teachers for a Change blog-site was created as an outgrowth of the conversations which took place at the McMath-Hulbert Observatory on October 28, 2005. It seeks to function as a repository for the free-exchange of thoughts, ideas and concepts regarding fundamental change in K-12 education.

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts about the 21st Century Education and what that might look like. When one hasn't seen it , "IT" becomes difficult to describe. Through dialogue and the honest exchange of ideas, information and knowledge we can begin to shape this thing we call the "future of education". We must continue to listen to our customers, the students, and all they bring to the party.
Our concerns as educators go far beyond the expectations of the federal NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND law.
We must teach our children how to think and apply that skill to every phase of their lives. That is the gift that keeps on giving long after our contact with them is over. Our hope for the next great idea, solution, antidote, equation, invention, etc. is currently sitting in one of our classrooms.

Hello everyone:

Welcome to the Teachers for a Change blog-site. As you may recall during your visit to the observatory some of us said we would get back together to further our initial discussions. Please think of this blog-site as a vehicle for that opportunity. Please feel free to "post" your thoughts and ideas here concerning our earlier inquiry's and interests in the development of change in K-12 education and our roles and personal responsibilities in that endeavor.

Hope all finds you well!
